A La Mode Boutique definitely stands out at the Blue Coral Shopping Mall- with good reason. The store’s charming, oriental décor not only inspires calm (the ideal mindset for decision making) but is also aesthetically pleasing. So much so that the store’s owner, Theresa James, has had to decline several offers for sale of her timeless objets d’arts- sometime you really can’t buy out the entire store!

 A La Mode Boutique opened in Vieux Fort on April 29th 1996, but ten years later moved up north to Brazil Street, Castries. Now the clothing store has transitioned to the Blue Coral Shopping Mall. Daring to be different, Mrs. James insists that carbon copies are rare- ensuring that her clients feel special. “We tend to protect the uniqueness of the outfit and try our best to satisfy our customers’ needs,” Mrs. James says. “We even do alterations to the clothes, as required, and are very patient with our clients. Our dresses are classic- so they never go out of style. There’s never a dull moment here; something is always happening.”

The store carries the Nine West, DKNY, and BCBG brands- mostly natural fibre fabrics such as silk and cotton; hand work on the outfits can only be described as exquisite. A special section of the store has also been reserved for casual wear. Of course, though A La Mode caters primarily to women, the shopping experience is equally comfortable for their male counterparts (a sung couch and suitably placed TV couldn’t hurt!). Recently, a shoe line- nothing but leather- was introduced to complement the clothing.
